Fitment and installation

• For 1998-on XL models fitted with a 3.3-gallon (12.5 L) tank, as specified by the manufacturer. Check the actual filler-neck and cap interface.
• For other tank capacities, Sportster S or Nightster, use a cap specified for that tank; do not assume this XL 3.3-gallon interface is universal.
• Initial fitting may be tight depending on the tank. The manufacturer advises silicone-grease or spray lubrication to prevent damage to the rubber seal.
