Installation notes
- Confirm the OEM reference and the shape and specification of the installed filter before ordering; parallel-import and Japanese-market motorcycles may use different elements.
- Clean the air-box sealing surfaces. Install with the K&N markings at the top and the lip seal facing the air-box lid, then refit the lid.
- Repeat the installation procedure after each service; an incorrect seal can damage the engine. Modified engines may require tuning.
- Inspect for dirt regularly. Cleaning frequency depends on riding conditions; use the separately purchased K&N 99-5050 or 99-5000 service kit for cleaning and re-oiling.
